*Jeremy came to LaVie alone and visibly shaken. He stood at the front desk for a moment, speechless, searching for words, while the look on his face said it all … CONCERN, FEAR, ANGUISH, HEARTACHE, CONFUSION, DISBELIEF. When Jeremy finally spoke, he spoke as if someone’s life was in danger. He spoke as if someone’s life was in danger, because, someone’s life was in danger, his child’s! The very thought of this brought an unshakable fear to the depths of his soul. He proceeded to explain that his girlfriend had done a couple of pregnancy tests at home that showed positive and he would like her to come to LaVie to have it confirmed. With a deep sigh, as if he was whispering a confession to a trustworthy friend, he said, “I am so nervous! I don’t know what to do. She hasn’t decided if she’s keeping it yet.”
Jeremy was reassured that he is doing everything right! He came to the right place … we see him, we hear him and we are going to do everything we can to support them.
When Jeremy returned with his girlfriend, *Nikki, emotions were high. She was feeling her own feelings of turmoil, fear and confusion as an ultrasound showed a late first trimester baby moving and flipping around inside her. Their questions were answered with truth and compassion. They were shown that they CAN be the great parents they desire to be no matter what the past held over them. Fear was thrown out the window on this day and replaced with confidence and bravery. With loving support from LaVie, this couple started down the road of choosing life for their baby and it felt so good!
