LaVie Health is not only committed to caring for the medical needs of our patients, but we strive to support and embrace the entire family unit as they navigate the journey of an unplanned pregnancy and all of the emotions, concerns and needs that come with it. One way we can practically serve these patients is through parent education coupled with tangible gifts to meet their needs.
Our Parent Education Program
LaVie Health’s virtual pregnancy and parenting classes support moms and dads with practical, real, and applicable topics using a national program called BrightCourse. Our Earn While You Learn (EWYL) program has different curriculums for parents to choose from. We even offer a 5-lesson curriculum for dads if they would like to participate as well.
Each curriculum’s lessons range from 20-40 minutes long. Lessons are currently offered online only and are self-led. Parents are encouraged to have a support person, such as the father of the baby, a friend or family member, watch with them.
After completing the curriculum of their choice, moms earn a “baby shower in a bag” filled with brand-new baby items. These bags are put together intentionally for each baby, and filled with the essential items that help set these families up for success. If dads participate in our “Just For Dads” add-on curriculum, they receive extra diapers, wipes and a special book.
We hope this opportunity will help parents bond with their sweet babies while furthering their knowledge about pregnancy and infant expectations/parenting. Our desire is to empower parents with the tools to be the best they can be!

What is the most impactful moment you’ve had with EWYL?
One of the most impactful moments is when a client expresses their feeling of relief after participating in the EWYL program, stating they feel prepared for parenthood because of all the great information they learned from the classes. They truly are grateful.
What is the class you get the best feedback on?
There are so many great ones that we get amazing feedback on. If I had to pick one, I’d say the labor and delivery class titled “getting ready.” Especially for first time parents. Many of our EWYL participants have shared that this class helps relieve some of the anxiety associated with what to expect in the delivery room.
What was your favorite class to watch?
Bonding with your unborn baby is my favorite class to watch. This lesson has an amazing way of getting our expecting parents excited about their pregnancy. I love how it explains the blessing of motherhood, and as moms, we have such a deep, special connection with our babies that starts in the womb and lasts forever.
What is the best part of giving the baby shower in a bag gift bag?
Seeing the excitement on the new parents faces when they see what a beautiful assortment of gifts they get. They are so humbled and truly touched to find out that donors picked out and purchased all those cute baby supplies for them.
Why is EWYL important?
EWYL is important because it is a great way for us to stay connected with our clients while they learn more about their pregnancy and earn awesome gifts for their babies.
How does EWYL help you continue to offer hope and encourage patients?
EWYL is more than just a parenting and prenatal educational program. It’s all that and a bunch more! It’s being a friend, mentor and encourager. It’s about showing them they matter, their baby matters, their family matters. It’s another level of excellence LaVie Health reaches. Not because we have to but because we want to.
